Generally the symmetrical complexes having d10 elctronic configuration or high spin d5 complexes are colourless.
(a) In [Cu(NH3)4]2+, the electronic configuration of : Cu2+=t62ge3g. So it will show colour.

(b) In [Cr(H2O)6]3+, the electronic configuration of
Cr3+=t32ge0g. So it will also show colour.
