Hinge joint is a type of synovial joint that allows motion in one plane and this is made up of two or more bones with articular surfaces that are covered by synovial fluid which reduces friction. Elbow, interphalangeal joints are types of hinge joint.
The base of metacarpel refers to the joint between metacarpel and carpel. It is a type of saddle joint. It does not allow rotation, but it does enable movement back and forth and side to side.
Intervertebral discs are made up of cartilaginous joint. In cartilaginous joints, the bones involved are joined together with the help of cartilages. The joint between the adjacent vertebrae in the vertebral column is of this pattern and it permits limited movements.
Joints present between the carpels are the gliding joints. Although it only permits limited movement, it’s characterized by smooth surfaces that can slip over one another.
