The correct option is D Two molecules react with each other in the presence of a strong acid.
Since there is no $C = C$ bond is present in lactic acid, it cannot decolourise bromine rapidly.
Lactic acid is soluble in water.
Fehling's reagent cannot oxidise alcohols or carboxylic acids. Thus lactic acid cannot reduce Fehling's reagent.
Two molecules of lactic acid can be dehydrate to lactone lactide.
Hence only (D) is the property of lactic acid.
