Which of the following is a receptor that is used by a snake?
Jacobson's organ
Snakes keep letting their tongue out every few seconds. When they do that, the aromatic particles in the air stick on the tongue of the snake and when the tongue is pulled back, they reach the Jacobson's organ that is present on the roof of the mouth cavity. The olfactory receptors in the organ then get stimulated, enabling them to smell.
Ommatidia are the tiny units of photoreceptors in the compound eyes of insects, crustaceans and millipedes. Adam's apple is the bump or bulge in the front of a person's neck. Lateral line receptors are found in the lateral line on either side of the body of sharks which helps to detect the change in the balance of the body.
