Software metrics:-
A software metric is a standard of measure of a degree to which a software system or process possesses some property. Even if a metric is not a measurement often the two terms are used as synonyms.
Size-oriented:-
Size-oriented software metrics are derived by normalizing quality and/or productivity measures by considering the size of the software that has been produced.
Function-oriented:-
Function-oriented software metrics use a measure of the functionality delivered by the application as a normalization value. Since ‘functionality’ cannot be measured directly, it must be derived indirectly using other direct measures.
Extended function point:-
A function point is a unit of measurement to express the amount of business functionality, an information system provides to a user. FPs measure software size. They are widely accepted as an industry standard for functional sizing.
