Solution

The correct option is C

Phloem - Transport of water

In the apoplast pathway, water flows outside the cell membrane but within the cell walls of adjecent cells. In symplast, water enters cells which are interconnected by plasmodesmata. Xylem transports water and solutes from the roots to the leaves, phloem transports food from the leaves to the rest of the plant. In guttation, water exudes out of leaves in the liquid form because of root pressure.
