Which of the following is adult stage of Plasmodium?
When an Anopheles mosquito bites a human Plasmodium is inoculated into the human blood in the form of a minute infective stage called as sporozoites. The injected sporozoites invade the hepatocyte cells in the liver. In the liver cell, a sporozoite actively feeds on its cytoplasm and grows into a large (about 45 in diameter) and spherical called as cryptozoite. After invading an erythrocyte, it becomes a rounded, disc-like structure called as trophozoites. It is an adult parasite which produces gametocytes.
