Efflorescent substances are those which lose water of crystallization when they are exposed to air.
Examples:- Washing soda Na2CO3.10H2O, Glauber's salt Na2SO4.10H2O etc.
Deliquescent substances are those which absorb water when exposed to the atmosphere and form solutions.
Example:- Magnesium chloride MgCl2, Calcium chloride CaCl2, Caustic soda NaOH etc.
Hygroscopic substances are those which absorb moisture from the atmosphere but not enough to form solutions.
Example:- Silica gel, Phosphorous pentaoxide, Quicklime etc.
