Which of the following is/are poor conductors of heat?
Bismuth
Stainless steel
For a substance to be a good conductor of heat, it has to have many free electrons that can transfer heat to each other by “bouncing and bumping” against each other. Usually, metals have a lot of free electrons but there are still some metals which are poor conductors of heat due to a relatively less concentration of these elcetrons.
The poorest conductor of heat among metals is Bismuth. Stainless steel is another one that is a poor conductor of heat, and you use this often in everyday life!
