Which of the following is/are the example(s) of Non-Contact force?
Gravitational force
Electrostatic force
Magnetic force
The forces experienced by bodies even without being physically touched are called the non-contact forces.
Gravitational force: Each particle in the universe attracts other particles due to its mass this force is called the gravitational force.
Electrostatic force: The force between charges (attraction or repulsion) is called the electrostatic force.
Magnetic force: Two like magnetic poles repel, while two unlike poles attract each other. This force between magnetic poles is called magnetic force.
In all the above cases, bodies experiences force without being physically touched. Hence they are examples of non-contact forces.
Frictional force only acts when the surfaces are in contact. Hence, it is a contact force.
