When higher alkanes on heated at higher temperature they decompose into lower alkanes, alkenes etc. This decomposition reaction on application of heat is called as pyrolysis or cracking.
Pyrolysis only gives lower alkane and alkenes.
Thus, hexane on pyrolysis can give alkane which has lower carbon chain than hexane. Also it gives alkenes of same carbon chain by elimination of hydrogen and also gives lower alkenes.
The possible pyrolysis product of Hexane are :
