This is mainly because the distribution of railway tracks across the districts of Karnataka is not uniform. Bengaluru, Ballari, Belagavi, Hassan, Uttara Kannada, Chitradurga, Udupi, Ramnagar and Dakshina Kannada districts have an average of 150 to 200 km long railway track. On the other hand, Kodagu district has no other railway track.
