Solution

The correct options are
A

As a fire extinguisher

B

In preparation of aerated water

C

In artificial respiration

A mixture of 95%O2 and 5%CO2 called carbogen is used for victims of CO poisoning and pneumonia patients in artificial respiration.

CO2 is slightly soluble in water. Its solubility in water, however, increases with increase in pressure. Soda water and other aerated soft drinks are, in fact, a solution of CO2 in water under pressure.

Air containing ~15%CO2 does not support combustion; CO2 is, therefore, used for extinguishing fire.
