Solution

The correct option is A A device that convert electrical energy into chemical energy
The devices which convert electrical energy into chemical energy or vice versa is called Electrochemical cell.
There are two types of electrochemical cell,
1. Galvanic Cell
2. Electrolytic Cell

Galvanic cell is also known as Voltaic cell. It converts the chemical energy liberated during the reaction to electrical energy. The chemical reaction will be a spontaneous reaction.

In Electrolytic cell, electrical energy is being used to carry out chemical reactions (chemical energy). Here, the electric current drives a non-spontaneous reaction.

In electrolytic cell, electricity can be used to make non-spontaneous redox reactions to take place.
The flow of electron will be opposite to the galvanic cell.
