Solution

The correct option is C Sporogenous tissue

A young anther contains a homogenous mass of meristematic cells called sporogenous tissue at the centre surrounded by anther wall. These cells form microspore mother cells which later on give rise to male gametophytic cells (pollen grains).

Tapetum and endothecium are parts of the wall of microsporangium. Endothecium acts as a protective layer and helps in dehiscence of anther while tapetum is primarily responsible for the nourishment of pollen grains.
