Solution

The correct option is B Predecessor of a 2 digit number is always a 2 digit number.
(i) 99999 comes just before 100000 (1 lakh).
So, 99999 is the predecessor of 1 lakh.

(ii) 98 comes just before 99. So, 98 is the predecessor of 99.

(iii) Whole numbers are {0,1,2,...}
0 is the first whole number. So it doesn't have a predecessor.

(iv) Consider 10 (a 2 digit number). Predecessor of 10 is 9, which is not a 2 digit number. So Predecessor of a 2 digit number is not always a 2 digit number.
