Solution

The correct option is B Proline
The biological membranes are essentially made up of lipids and proteins. The three main lipid constituents of cell membranes are phospholipids, glycolipids and sterols. The phospholipids contain a phosphate moiety in the hydrophilic head. They can be distinguished into glycerophospholipids with a glycerol backbone and a sphingophospholipids based on 4 sphingosine.
Glycolipids contain one or more monosaccharide residues and are based on 4-sphingosine or ceramide. The steroids are sterol alcohols which contain a cyclopentanone perhydrophenanthrene nucleus. Cholesterol is the most common sterol in animal cell membranes. Proline is an amino acid. It is generally not present in the biological membranes.
