The GnRH from the hypothalamus stimulates the synthesis of luteinising hormone from the anterior pituitary lobe. In males it is responsible for production of androgens like testosterone from testis.
In females it is responsible for ovulation of mature follicle (graafian follicle). It also maintains the remanent of graafian follicle called corpus luteum.
Follicle stimulating hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland is responsible for spermatogeneis (production of sperm cells) in males.
