Solution
The correct option is B Stimulation of mammary secretion
Progesterone is a steroid hormone which is secreted by the corpus luteum. It is secreted under the influence of Luteinizing hormone during the second half of menstrual cycle, and human chorionic gonadotropin during pregnancy.
This hormone causes temporary changes in the endometrium (which is the innermost lining of uterus) during the secretory phase of menstrual cycle to make the uterus compatible for receiving egg. Thus, it supports pregnancy. During pregnancy progesterone is secreted from corpus luteum throughout the gestation period. Low levels of progesterone can lead to abortion.
Stimulation of mammary secretion is induced by oxytocin hormone which is secreted from posterior pituitary.
So, the correct answer is 'Stimulation of mammary secretion'.
