Solution

The correct option is C

Area

A fundamental (or basic) unit is independent of any other unit and it can neither be changed nor can be related to any other fundamental unit. The units of mass, length, time, temperature, current and amount of substance are fundamental units as they are independent of each other since they're of a different nature. They cannot be obtained from the unit of any other quantity.

Derived units depend on the fundamental units; in other words, they can be expressed in terms of fundamental units.

Here, the area is measured by measuring length and breath in the unit of length i.e., the area is expressed in terms of the fundamental unit length.
