Each electron of an atom can be described by four quantum numbers-
Principle quantum number (n)
Azimuthal quantum number (l)
Magnetic quantum number (ml)
Spin quantum number (ms)

The possible values of azimuthal quantum number for a given value of n is given by (l) = 0,1,2,3, ….., (n – 1)

Also, the permissible values of magnetic quantum number ranges from -l to +l.

When n = 4,
l = 0, 1, 2, 3
and ml = -3, -2,-1, 0, 1 ,2, 3

Therefore, option: n = 4, l = 4, ml= 1 is not possible because l=4 is not permissible for n=4.
