Solution

The correct option is D Site of implantation
The oviduct is a tube-shaped muscular organ connecting ovaries to the uterus. It has a number of functions such as:
i. Transportation of sperms,
ii. Capturing the oocyte (with the help of fimbriae),
iii. Movement of oocyte (carries the oocyte from the ovary to the uterus),
iv. Site of fertilisation (oviducal ampulla),
v. Nutrition to the fertilised oocyte (peg cells),
vi. Transportation of the fertilised oocyte.

It however is not the site of implantation. The endometrium (innermost layer of the uterus) is the site of implantation. The uterus is the organ that provides the environment for the development of the embryo.
