Which of the following is not a white blood cell?
Thrombocyte
Blood corpuscles are of three types, i.e., RBCs, WBCs and thrombocytes. Red blood cells are most abundant and responsible for oxygen and CO2 transport. White blood corpuscles are of two types, i.e. granulocytes (eosinophil, basophils and neutrophils) and agranulocytes (i.e., lymphocytes and monocytes). Lymphocytes produce antibodies, eosinophils are non – phagocytic and basophils release, heparin, histamine and serotonin. Thrombocytes are platelets and help in blood clotting.
