Solution

The correct option is B Insulin – raises blood glucose
Symptoms of myxoedema include thickening of the skin and other symptoms associated with hypothyroidism, including fatigue, weight gain, depression, dry skin, and brittle hair, among others.

Tetany usually is caused by low calcium levels, and hypoparathyroidism that causes low calcium levels also causes long term tetany.

Insulin helps the cells absorb glucose, reducing blood sugar and providing the cells with glucose for energy. When blood sugar levels are too low, the pancreas releases glucagon. Glucagon instructs the liver to release stored glucose, which causes blood sugar to rise.

Insulin promotes the absorption of blood glucose by liver, muscle and fat cells. Beta cells are sensitive to blood sugar levels so that they secrete insulin into the blood in response to high levels of glucose and inhibit secretion of insulin when glucose levels are low.

Hypothyroidism during pregnancy causes defective development and maturation of the growing baby leading to stunted growth (cretinism), mental retardation, low intelligence quotient, abnormal skin, deaf-mutism, etc.

Therefore, the correct answer is "option b".
