Solution
The correct option is C Non-sticky in nature
Loamy soil contains equal proportions of large and fine particles, whereas clayey soil contains a greater proportion of fine particles. Since, little spaces or pores are present between the fine particles of clayey soil, the water cannot pass easily through them. Therefore, clayey soil is excellent at retaining water as compared to loamy soil. Hence, loamy soil retains less water than clayey soil.
Due to the presence of equal proportions of both large and small size particles, loamy soil is moderate in retaining water and is suitable to grow the crops that require moderate amount of water such as sugarcane and lentils.
Loamy soil is a mixture of sand, clay and another type of soil particle known as silt.
