Van-Arkel Method.
This method is used for ultrapure metal like Ti,Zr etc. The metal is converted into its volatile stable compound such as TiI4 ,leaving behind the impurities. The stable volatile compound thus formed is decomposed to get the pure metal.
Van arkel process is one the refining process to get very pure metal. In this process the impure metal is converted into volatile lodides, which are again dissociated to get pure metal.
