Crocodiles belong to the order Crocodilia which includes large, predatory, semi-aquatic reptiles. They have long flattened snouts, laterally compressed tails and eyes, ears and nostrils at the top of the head. They all have a four-chambered heart. They are polyphyodont. They are capable of replacing their 80 teeth (approximately) upto 50 times in their 35-75 years lifespan. They have spongy lungs.
