Rolling, sliding, static


Static friction has the highest magnitude. More force is required to move a body from rest than when it is continuing in its motion. As force required is more, static friction is more than sliding friction.
Sliding friction is more than rolling friction but less than static friction. When one body rolls upon another, the area of contact is minimum and hence, there is very less interlocking.
So, rolling friction has the least value among the three.

Thus, the correct order is Rolling < Sliding < Static.
