The correct option is B
To calculate 42×7 using lattice method, we first separate 42 as per its face values 4 and 2. And, we write 7 at the farthest right.


As the name suggests, in the lattice method, we draw a separator for each of the cells which resembles the cone in diamond lattice.


Now, we know 7×2=14 and 7×4=28, which are separated as per their face values by the arrows.


Next, we write down the numbers just below the cell's position, and do the arrangement from left to right to get the final result of the multiplication.


Finally, 42×7=294.

Hence, option (b.) is the correct representation for solving 42×7 using lattice method.
