Which of the following is the first barrier of defence in our body?
Skin
Mucus
Ear wax
A protein called keratin makes the skin a thick fort which prevents germs from entering it. Mucus in the trachea prevents the entry of germs into the lungs. The wax in the ear prevents pathogens. Hydrochloric acid in the stomach also fights against germs but since this is inside the body, it is not considered as the first barrier of defence.
