Solution

The correct option is A Cohesion tension theory
Cohesion of water and transpiration pull theory is the most widely accepted theory put forth by Dixon and Jolly in 1894, and further supported by Renner (1911, 1915), Curtis and Clark (1951), Bonner and Galston (1952), Kramer and Kozlowskl (1960). It is also known as Dixons cohesion theory, or Cohesion tension theory.

Passive transport is the movement of substances along the concentration gradient without the use of energy.

Root pressure theory explains the flow of water from root cortex generating root pressure and pushing the xylem sap which is seen in herbaceous plants.

Munch's hypothesis explains the mass flow of organic substances due to osmotic pressure gradient between source and sink.
