Solution

The correct option is B Involves two alleles of a gene present on homologous chromosomes

Intragenic interactions are types of interactions that involve two alleles of the same gene, which are apparently, present on the same locus of homologous chromosomes. Flower colour in Mirabilis jalapa is an example, wherein a cross between a red flowered plant (RR) and a white flowered plant (rr) results in a pink flowered plant (Rr). In this case, the alleles for flower colour (R and r) interact with each other, resulting in a modified phenotype. AB blood group in humans is another example in which the alleles IA and IB of the gene for blood groups, interact with each other, resulting in the genotype IAIB, which results in AB blood group. In both these examples, we can see that an interaction between alleles of the same gene happens.
