Solution

The correct option is C Heterogeneous catalysis
Adsorption is a surface phenomenon, i.e. the molecule of the adsorbate do not enter inside the adsorbent, and they just stick to the surface.
Adsorption hypothesis of catalysis is based on the mechanism of heterogeneous catalysis.
According to perspective when the catalyst is in solid state and reactants are in gaseous state or in solution, the molecules of the reactants get adsorbed on the catalyst surface.
Adsorption is exothermic process, the heat of adsoption is held by the surface of catalyst, which is used on enhancing the chemical movement of reactant molecules.
