The correct option is C Ribosome binds to the mRNA
Translation refers to the process of polymerisation of amino acids to form a polypeptide. During the process, the ribosome binds to mRNA. The sequence of nucleotides present on the mRNA is read and translated into amino acid sequence of the polypeptide in the ribosome.
Eukaryotic genes contain both exons (coding sequences) and introns (non-coding sequences) and are therefore known as split genes. After their transcription, the resulting RNA formed is known as heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). It is subjected to a process called splicing where the introns are removed and exons are joined in a defined order. hnRNA undergoes additional processing called capping and tailing. In capping an unusual nucleotide (methyl guanosine triphosphate) is added to the 5'-end of hnRNA and in tailing, adenylate residues (200-300) are added at 3'-end in a template independent manner. After these modifications it is known as functional mRNA and it gets transported from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.
