Add 163


To make x2+8x3 a perfect square, divide the co efficient of x by 2 and the add the square of the result to make this a perfect square.

Hence 83÷2=43

Square of (43)2=163

So, we should add 163 to make x2+8x3 a perfect square.

x2+8x3+163=(x+43)2
