The spermatogonia are sperm mother cells which divide mitotically and increase in number. Some of them differentiate into primary spermatocytes which undergo meiosis and form into spermatids.

These spermatids undergo differentiation and transform into spermatozoa by the process of spermiogenesis which are then released from the seminiferous tubules by the process of spermiation.
