The correct option is A -3 - 9 = -12
(i) Given -3 - 9 = -12
- 3 - 9 = -(3 + 9)
= - (12)
$∴$ -3 - 9 = -12 is correct.

(ii) Given -9 + 12 - (-6) = -3
= -9 + 12 + 6
= -9 + 18 = 9
$∴$ -9 + 12 - (-6) = -3 is not correct

(iii)Given -8 + 12 - 6 = -3
-8 + 12 - 6
= -(14) + 12
= -14 +12
= -2
$∴$ -8 + 12 - 6 = -3 is not correct

(iv) Given -1 + 1 = -1
-1 + 1 = 0
$∴$ -1 + 1 = -1 is not correct
