The correct option is D Vivipary
Dormancy of seeds can be caused due to various reasons. Impermeable or hard seed coats don't allow the entry of O2 and H2O. It causes a mechanical barrier to seed germination. Certain chemical inhibitors are present in the seed coat and cotyledons of a few seeds that inhibit seed germination. E.g:- abscisic acids, phenolic acids.
Some plants release their seeds before the embryo has matured. These seeds remain dormant until the embryo completely matures. Immature embryos delay germination until the they are fully matured.
In the case of plants, vivipary is the condition when the seeds start to germinate while still being attached to the plant body. In such plants, seeds don’t undergo dormancy and often it is described as a premature germination process
