Solution
The correct option is D Intramural part
Oviducts are paired, tubular structures that connect the primary female sex organ or the ovaries to the uterus. It is also called uterine tubes or Fallopian tubes and is differentiated into four parts- infundibulum, ampulla, isthmus and the intramural part.
Infundibulum is closest to the ovary. It has finger-like projections at one the end proximal to the ovary. These projections are called fimbriae and they help in the collection of the ovum released from the ovary.
Infundibulum is followed by ampulla. It is wider and the longest part.
The ampulla is followed by a narrow lumen called the isthmus.
The intramural portion of oviduct is the narrow tubular part which lies farthest away from the ovary. It is continuous with the isthmus and is located on top of the uterine fundus.
