January 1921, saw the campaign for the Non-Cooperation Movement begin with great enthusiasm. In towns, villages, forests, and in plantations, the call for non-cooperation was heard. People interpreted and acted upon the call to “non-cooperate” with the colonial rule in ways that best suited their interests.
