Law of dominance states that: When parents with pure, contrasting traits are crossed, only the dominant trait appears in the F1 generation.
When Mendel’s experiments were repeated with different plants to check the universality of the Law of dominance, it was found that sometimes the F1 progenies show a phenotype that is different from the two parents and was intermediate between the two. The inheritance of flower colour in dog flower (snapdragon or Antirrhinum majus) is a good example.
