Solution

The correct option is D Both A and B
Muscle is a tissue composed of cells or fibers, the contraction of which produces movement in the body, it can be compared with an elastic. During contraction the muscle length decreases, whereas during relaxation it increases. During contraction due to decrease in the length of muscle the width of the muscle increases, similarly during relaxation due to the increase in length of the muscle the width decreases.
Change in blood flow is not a feature of muscle contraction and relaxation.
Thus, the answer is both length and width are altered during contraction and relaxation of the muscle.
