There are two types of cell division- mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis is an equational division where a cell divides to form two daughter cells and each of them carries the same number of chromosomes as that of the parent cell. Meiosis is a reductional division where the cell divides to form four daughter cells and each of them carries half the number of chromosomes as that of the parent cell. Here, figure (ii), (iii) and (iv) give the correct illustration of mitosis and meiosis.
