$y = - x^{2} + 6 x + 1$

$a < 0 \Rightarrow$ graph is inverted cup shaped.

Also, maximum value occur at $x = \frac{- b}{2 a} = 3$

$D = b^{2} - 4 a c = 6^{2} - 4 (- 1) (1) = 36 + 4 = 40 > 0$
