Solution
The correct option is A 2% men are red colour blind, 6% are green colour blind Colour blindness is a disorder wherein the person is unable to distinguish between red and green colour. There four types of red-green colour blindness:
Protanomaly is the condition in which the red cone photopigments are abnormal wherein red, orange and yellow appear greener and less bright.
Protanopia is the condition in which red cone cells are dysfunctional wherein red appears black and orange, yellow and green appear as yellow.
Deuteranomaly is the condition in which green cone photopigments are abnormal. Here yellow and green colours appear red.
Deuteranopia is the condition in which green cone cells are non-functional. Here red colour appears as brownish yellow and green as beige. It is observed that cases of deuteranomaly and deuteranopia are higher compared to protanomaly and protanopia. It estimated that 2% men are red colour blind, 6% are green colour blind.
