Solution

The correct option is B Triphenyls may show geometrical isomerism
A biphenyl system consists of two phenyl rings attached by a sigma bond.
If there is steric hindrance due to bulky groups at ortho positions, then to minimise repulsions, the rings become mutually perpendicular to each other.
Perpendicular rings hinder the free rotation between them in the biphenyl system.
Since, the terminal groups are in perpendicular planes, hence,
the biphenyl system does not show geometrical isomerism.

In triphenyl system both the terminal phenyl ring are perpendicular to the plane of paper which means they are in a same plane and they exhibit geometrical isomerism if they have different groups attached to the ortho position of phenyl ring.

Hence, statement (b) is correct.
