The correct option is D Decrease the urinary excretion
An increase in blood volume and blood flow to the atria of the heart can cause the release of peptide hormone called atrial natriuretic factor (ANF). The primary function of ANF is to decrease blood pressure.
This hormone has inhibiting effects on the release of renin by juxtaglomerular apparatus (JGA). Therefore, it inhibits the reabsorption of Na+ and water by distal convoluted tubules (DCT) and collecting tubules in the kidneys. It increases the urinary excretion and hence decreases blood volume and blood pressure.
