This region is charecterised by the presence of many choes. They are seasonal or ephemeral streams that originate in the Shiwaliks and move to the alluvial plains of Punjab. Many of the choes in the Kandi region disappear without joining a major stream or river. The deposits in the alluvial fans and choe beds are coarse textured in some areas and relatively finer in other areas. The Kandi region has low groundwater level.
