Devagiri was the first capital of the Bahamani Kingdom. Later, Alauddin shifted his capital to Gulbarga. His successors found it difficult with Gulbarga. So they shifted the capital to Bidar. The kingdom was divided into four provinces- Gulbarga, Berar, Bidar and Daulatabad. The Bahamani kingdom was constantly at war with the state of Warangal as well as the Reddi kingdoms of Rajahmundry and Kondaveedu.
