Ho Chi Minh(1890-1969) was a famous Vietnamese national leader who led a long and ultimately successful campaign to make Vietnam independent. Born in Tongking, Ho Chi Minh went to Europe at the age of twenty one.

• He worked in a hotel in London and visited Paris and later influenced the Paris Peace Conference for the cause of Vietnam’s independence.
• His articles like ‘French Colonialism on Trial’ became popular in newspapers and pamphlets.
• In 1921, he co-founded the French Communist Party.
• Two years later in 1923, he learnt revolutionary techniques from Moscow and founded the Revolutionary Youth Movement in 1925.
